I have been interested in insects and other arthropods since 2004. I have over ten years of experience with the Maine insect fauna, and I have also collected extensively in New Hampshire, New York, Maryland, and Delaware. I am a member of the Maine Entomological Society, and I am a contributing editor and photographer for Maryland Biodiversity Project, BugGuide.net, and iNaturalist. Currently I am an undergraduate at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, majoring in Entomology. There I work in the Cornell University Insect Collection (CUIC) curating Orthoptera and related orders. I began seriously photographing insects around 2010, and I post most of what I find on BugGuide and/or Flickr. My main focus is the taxonomy and behavior of the Orthoptera, but I am broadly interested in anything alive.

This blog is a place for me to write about insects and other organisms for fun, and to recount stories of my adventures in the field.
